Homemade Strawberry Margaritas & Mocktails

Alura Cein Recipes Strawberry Margarita and mocktails

My dear friends,

As we count down the days together toward the Strawberry Moon on June 29th, I have been thinking about simple ways to make our stargazing nights even more magical and heart-centered. One of my favorite ideas is to prepare a special drink that honors the sweetness of the season while we look up at the planets and stars dancing above us.

These two recipes feel perfect for those evenings. One is a classic strawberry margarita for those who enjoy a little celebration with alcohol, and the other is a bright, refreshing mocktail that is just as lovely and full of strawberry joy.

Both are easy to make and bring that beautiful sense of ritual to our time under the sky.

The Strawberry Margarita

This version is vibrant, a little tart, and wonderfully sweet from the fresh berries. It is perfect for toasting the ripening energy of the Strawberry Moon.

Ingredients (for one serving):

  • 4 to 5 ripe fresh strawberries
  • 2 ounces of good tequila
  • 1 ounce of triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1 ounce of fresh squeezed lime juice
  • ½ ounce of agave nectar or simple syrup (adjust to your taste)
  • Plenty of ice
  • Coarse salt or sugar for the rim (optional)
  • Garnishes: a fresh strawberry, lime wheel, and mint sprig if you like

How to make it:
Muddle the strawberries gently in the bottom of a cocktail shaker until they release their juices and become fragrant. Add the tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, agave or simple syrup, and fill the shaker with ice. Shake well for about 15 seconds so everything is nicely chilled and combined. If you like a salted or sugared rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of your glass and dip it into the salt or sugar. Strain the drink into the prepared glass. Garnish with a strawberry and lime wheel, and add a mint sprig if you want an extra fresh note.

For a frozen treat on warmer evenings, simply toss all the ingredients into a blender with a cup of ice and blend until smooth and slushy. It becomes a beautiful pink dessert-like sip under the stars.

The Strawberry Mocktail

This alcohol-free version is light, fizzy, and full of natural strawberry sweetness. It is wonderful if you want something refreshing without the spirits, and it still feels special and celebratory.

Ingredients (for one serving):

  • A generous handful of ripe fresh strawberries (about 5 or 6)
  • Juice of 1 fresh lime
  • A few fresh mint leaves (optional but lovely)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons of agave nectar or a touch of honey (optional, to taste)
  • A small splash of orange juice (optional for extra brightness)
  • Sparkling water or a light lemonade to top off the glass
  • Ice
  • Garnishes: strawberry slices, lime wheel, and mint sprig

How to make it:
Muddle the strawberries in a glass or shaker with the lime juice and mint leaves until the berries are broken down and juicy. Stir in the agave or honey and the splash of orange juice if you are using it. Fill your serving glass with ice, pour the muddled strawberry mixture over the ice, and top with sparkling water or lemonade for a gentle fizz. Stir softly so the flavors mingle. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices, a lime wheel, and a mint sprig.

It tastes bright, naturally sweet, and incredibly refreshing. The bubbles make it feel festive, and the color is just gorgeous in the evening light.

I love the idea of preparing one of these drinks as part of our stargazing ritual. As you sip, you can quietly set an intention for what you want to see come into full bloom in your life by the Strawberry Moon. The strawberries remind us that the sweetest things in life often take their time to ripen, and these simple sips help us slow down and savor the moment.

I would truly love to hear which recipe you try or how your stargazing nights feel with these drinks in hand. Share your experiences in the comments or tag me if you post a photo of your sky watch. These little moments of sweetness and connection mean so much.

Wishing you beautiful skies and sweet sips,
Alura 🌕🍓
